Kailah Solomon-Sides

Lights. Camera. Action. Entertainment had always been Kailah’s specialty. She knew at a very young age she was destined for greatness. Kailah never saw the world how others saw it. She always saw the world through a camera lens. Kailah Conquering the World is the name of the movie, and she was the star of it. Growing up Kailah was always called the “Drama Queen” not to be confused with always being in drama, but because everything she did had to be overly dramatic. Even when speaking, Kailah performed as if she was doing a monologue. She found herself creating different scenarios and acting them out, whether it was in the shower or alone in a room. Going into middle and high school, Kailah was able to channel her artistic interest in taking theatre classes which was a safe haven where she was able to be herself without getting judged by people who didn’t see life on the same spectrum as her. Kailah had always loved the arts and everything it stood for. Finding herself a little down because she didn’t get accepted into A&T for nursing, but instead for her second choice which was professional theatre. Kailah thought it may be the end for her. What could she possibly do with a degree in acting? She had always loved the arts but didn’t think it would go beyond her teenage years. It wouldn’t be until the summer before her freshman year of college when she truly figured out what theatre meant to her. Kailah found herself sitting on top of a red double-decker bus in the middle of Times Square. Headphones, volume full blast, and “Empire State of Mind” being played as she rode around the big city looking at what all it has to offer. Right then and there something clicked. It was as if the stars aligned, and the wind whispered “you belong here; it’s your time now.” It was as if fate brought her here to this very bus on this very tour where she would regain her passion for the arts. She was ready to take A&T by storm. During her college years, she found herself doing more than just acting. Kailah wanted to learn everything about the arts and what happens on stage and off. She found herself as the jack of all trades while acting here and there. When she wasn’t on stage she was behind the scenes doing tech, stage managing, directing, and children’s theatre.  After graduation Kailah will continue to be the jack of all trades; fitting in anywhere she can be of service. Destined for greatness her name will be in big lights. Kailah is Taking On the Industry! Rehearsals are over; now it’s showtime!
