Raashad Candor
Hello, I am Tyler L. prefer to go by Raashad, Candor (ruh-shawd). I was born and raised in Red Springs NC, then moved to Fayetteville where I went to a community college to pursue theatre/film. Growing up I did not have much access to much theatre or film and for a kid who moved back and forth from North Carolina to Texas; school to school constantly adapting to new environments and people. Naturally, TV, games, drawing and music was my outlet of expression. Over time I wanted to dive more into the arts but considering the schools I went to was only limited to music and arts. In 2015 I went to John Casablancas to learned how to be a model and briefly taught a modeling class after gaining the skill sets and other things I needed. I even did the Avanti showcase for which was a great experience and first time showcasing my talents for casting directors and full audience. During my time in Fayetteville tech, I became more immerse into writing scripts, plays monologues, self-tapes and poetry. I also had the opportunity to perform on stage for the first time as Cory in the well-known play by August Wilson “Fences”. Went on to be leads in other musical, and drama plays at Fayetteville tech along with creating my own one act plays, student films and featuring in others. After graduating from FTCC I transferred to North Carolina A&T where I became more diverse in my acting and other talents such as dancing, photography and videography. I hope to continue pursuing more into filmmaking to produce content, films that will have an impact that can change the landscape for people’s perspectives in the world.
